CONVENTIONAL OPEN PLAN

DESCRIPTION

The arrangement of the space supports individual work comprising a variety of activities; the work is not of a confidential nature. These workplaces are considered to be permanent. Each workstation includes sufficient individual storage space. Further storage space is located close to the work area. This type of workplace supports ad-hock cooperation between employees and, to a certain extent, teamwork.

WORKPLACE PARAMETERS

• ability to connect laptop (data connection, power connection) or PC
• close proximity of copier, printer, scanner etc.
• visual separation between individual workplaces
• corresponding architectural arrangement of space (noise)

CHARACTERISTICS OF SYSTEM

• the system is constructed to allow the „clean“ storage of PCs
• the system is complimented by screens allowing a certain degree of privacy to be created
• the height of the screens must not exceed the height for trouble-free communication between divided workplaces (and should permit access of natural light)
• the construction of the desk units provides sufficient storage space
• the construction allows desks to be arranged in groups of four or multiples of 2

LOCATION

• this type of workplace is placed away from communication routes

DISADVANTAGES

• if badly designed noise problems can occur
• demands on employees with regards to professional attitude in dealing with each other
