TECHO welcomes new members to its Board of Directors and Supervisory Board

Prague, 30th June 2008 - Bastiaan Brouns (40), currently manager of Royal Ahrend for Central and Eastern Europe, has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of TECHO, a.s., a leading producer of office furniture. The Board of Directors has also been joined by the current Sales Manager of TECHO, Petr Hampl (41). On the Supervisory Board departing member, Jan Šťovíček, will be replaced by Jan Petrák (35), Strategic Development Manager. The management changes were prompted by the completion of the acquisition of TECHO by Dutch company Royal Ahrend.

Bastiaan Brouns (40) was manager of Ahrend Czech Republic from 1996 to 1998 and since 2003 he has been manager of Royal Ahrend for Central and Eastern Europe. As a new member of the Board of Directors of TECHO he will play a key role in forming the key account strategy and also in realising synergies between the TECHO and Ahrend brands. “I would also like to concentrate on the expansion and development of TECHO in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe” added Brouns.

Bastiaan Brouns graduated in Business Economics and also received an MBA. He has worked for the Dutch company Royal Ahrend as a manager for over ten years. During his time as manager of Royal Ahrend for Central and Eastern Europe the company increased its sales fivefold and has entered the markets of ten countries, in some cases together with TECHO. Bastiaan Brouns speaks Czech, his wife is Czech and they live in Prague with their children.

Petr Hampl (41) has been Sales Manager of TECHO since 2001. After completing his studies at the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Technical University in Prague he was one of the founders of TECHO in 1992. In common with Bastiaan Brouns, Petr Hampl would also like to concentrate on strengthening the successful expansion of TECHO in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe . „It is also very important for me to ensure the functioning of the newly opened branches and their incorporation into the TECHO structures. In this way we will be able to provide our clients comprehensive services in the area of building office interiors,“ stated Hampl.

During his time at TECHO, Petra Hampl can point to many notable achievements, including TECHO’s best ever sales figures in 2007 (1.2 billion crowns) and winning key accounts such as ČEZ and Česká pojištovna. During this time TECHO also started its expansion into Central and Eastern Europe and the sale of TECHO to Royal Ahrend was completed. Petr Hampl is married with one child. In his spare time he likes cycling, golf and skiing and his interests also include modern art.

Jan Petrák (35) started at TECHO while still a student in 1993. He started at the bottom and worked his way up to Export Manager. He has also held various functions relating to foreign trade and the strategic development of the company.

Jan Petrák has now been appointed a member of the Supervisory Board and Director for Strategic Development at TECHO. He will be responsible for creating a new department. „The company has reached the situation where the opportunity exists for a second wave of expansion into foreign markets,“ explained Petrák. In the near future branches will be opened in Ukraine, Georgia, Croatia and Russia. TECHO also has plans to enter the markets of Bulgaria, Poland and the Baltic States.

During his time with the company Jan Petrák established branches in Romania and Great Britain and prepared TECHO’s entrance into Georgia.

Jan Petrák studied at the School of Economics in Prague specialising in business economics and management. He is married and his interests include cycling, golf and skiing. He likes the Czech and English countryside and is a member of Mensa CR.
