TECHO helps the environment and its employees

PRAGUE, 4th August 2010 – The production hall of furnishings company TECHO has been modernised in recent months with the installation of new extraction equipment. The new method of extraction not only mitigates the impact of industrial production on the environment and significantly reduces heat loss during the winter by up to 50%, but also improves the working environment in production.

„The original extraction equipment did not meet the current requirements for efficiency, or the limits set in connection with the company’s philosophy and policy regarding protection of the environment. In the winter there was a huge loss of heat because the original arrangement was unable to return filtered air back into the production environment. The production halls were therefore continually subject to suction and fresh air was sucked in through the windows.” States Jan Duras, Operations Manager at TECHO.

The new equipment functions by filtering the extracted air and returning it back to the production space. The filtration is highly efficient (99.95%), which means a significant reduction in the volume of dust particles released into the atmosphere. There is also a reduction in the energy requirements and the emission of a minimum amount of combustion products, particularly during the heating season. This is because in winter the warm air is returned to the production environment which will reduce energy requirements for heating by as much as 50%. In the summer air is sucked into the production hall from outside to provide the optimum internal temperature and pressure.
