TECHO furnished the interior of the new National Technical Library

PRAGUE, 16 September 2009 – Interior company TECHO worked on the interior fit-out of the new modern National Technical Library building. It furnished the offices, open atrium, cafes, kitchens as well as individual study rooms. The order value was in the region of 60 million crowns.

TECHO worked on the project for the new National Technical Library building in Prague 6, which replaces the existing State Technical Library and university libraries of the VŠCHT and ČVUT, from August 2008 to January 2009. The overall design concept for the interiors was prepared in cooperation with the studio PROJEKTIL ARCHITEKTI led by architect Roman Brychta. „In the new library we furnished interiors with an area of around 6000 m², the entire order was delivered without a single problem“ stated Petr Faldus, project manager at TECHO.

The new National Technical Library was officially opened on the 9th September 2009. The public spaces and administrative areas are located in the six-storey library building, where the main linking element is the large atrium. On the ground floor is an entrance hall with space for a café, conference and exhibition room and other rental space. The three basement levels house a book depository and car park.
