A few days ago in Brighton on the South Coast of England the largest exhibition so far of the work of important Czech designer Jiří Pelcl was opened.
INTERIOR SUPPLIER TECHO CONSOLIDATES ITS POSITION: SALES THIS YEAR EXPECTED TO REACH 1.2 BILLION CZECH CROWNS
PRAGUE, 1st November 2011 –TECHO group a producer and supplier of office furniture and interior fit-outs for the private and public sector, has recorded first-half sales for 2011 of 468 million CZK, which is three per cent higher than last year. Excellent first-half figures were recorded in Slovakia, and the Eastern European and African export markets
TECHO SUPPORTS CENTRUM PARAPLE
Close to our Hostivar site – in Prague 10 Malešice – is the Centrum Paraple, which is a non-profit organisation helping people who find themselves wheelchair bound due to spinal damage return to „normal“ life. Zdeněk Svěrák, president of the Centrum Paraple supervisory committee, was involved right from the start when this rehabilitation and advisory centre was established in 1994. It has already helped thousands of people come to terms with their difficult life situations. The new extension to their building houses a modern fitness and rehabilitation centre and workshop, as well as offices and a consultation room. Thanks to financial support from the public, companies and the state, Centrum Paraple in 2010 ordered furnishings for this administration space from TECHO. We supplied Arkus A and Horizont desks, wooden tambour cabinets and Sidiz conference chairs.
TECHO’S AWARD WINNING DESK VISITS SOUL, SOUTH KOREA
PRAGUE, 18 May 2011 – the Czech embassy in South Korea has prepared an interesting event in the Czech Information Centre in Soul. In a permanent exhibition devoted to business opportunities in the Czech Republic, a display has been installed of Czech products that have received the prestigious red dot design award. TECHO has received this award twice. The first time was in 2003 for the design and technical finish of the FOCUS desk, and then again in 2009 for the WOT desk, which visitors to the exhibition can see among the other Czech products. The exhibition continues until 30 June 2011.
TECHO IS A PARTNER OF THE EXHIBITION ARCHITECTURE.SK.05/10 – CROP II
BRATISLAVA, 3 May 2011 – TECHO is a partner of the extensive retrospective exhibition ARCHITECTURE.SK.05/10 – Crop II on contemporary architecture in Slovakia, prepared by the Centre for Contemporary Architecture, ARCHA, in Bratislava, held at the Slovak National Museum Podhradie Pavilion from 5 May 2011. Presented at the exhibition will be works and projects gathered in the second part of the extensive documentary project undertaken by the association Design Slovakia since 2008. The exhibition of work documenting the first part of the project (Crop I) took place in May 2010 during the festival ARCHIDAYS 2010 in Bratislava.
TECHO FURNISHED THE NEW ČVUT BUILDING ON THE BASIS OF PROPOSALS FROM STUDENTS LED BY ARCHITECT SEHO
PRAGUE, 15 April 2011 – Interior furnishings company TECHO, has furnished the new building of the Faculty of Architecture of the ČVUT in Prague Dejvice. The delivery included special folding work desks that were designed by the students themselves in cooperation with architect Hana Seho. Students not only benefited from the excellent furnishings, but also had the opportunity to acquire valuable experience in their field.
TECHO - GENERAL PARTNER OF THE LONDON EXHIBITION ON MORAVIAN BORN AUSTRIAN ARCHITECT A. LOOS
„Learning to dwell: Adolf Loos in the Czech Lands“ – is the name of a project which starts on 24th February in London that will present the life and works of this famous Moravian born Austrian architect. The entire Adolf Loos Season is organised by the Museum of Prague in cooperation with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) with TECHO as a general partner of this unusual event.
