Born on 11 January 1957 he studied medicine at university and currently works as a cardiologist in Olomouc. He began to be very interested in the visual arts while at grammar school, with private lessons from Professor Vaculka. His practical work on design began in 1992 in the new B.A.G. glassworks in Vsetín. The success of that collaboration was confirmed in 1993, when two sets of glasses by him won the "Good Design" award in the "Good Design" competition. Since 2002 he has worked with the company mminteriér. In his work the emphasis is on a straightforward approach, as pure as possible, while focusing on small details. He seeks to add distinctive new aesthetic dimensions to utility, beyond the point where the utilitarian becomes aesthetic and vice-versa.
