Martin Frank

Born on 3 April 1966 in Ostrava. He studied public buildings at the Faculty of Architecture in Brno, graduating in 1989. In 1990 - 1991 he worked for Potravinoprojekt Ostrava, and then in 1991 - 1993 for Sprojekt Zlín. From 1993 he was employed by Formica Zlín until he started to work for himself in 2001. In 2003 he founded the studio ESPRI INTERIER s.r.o. for the purpose of producing furniture and accessories. He is active in the designing of constructions, interiors, furniture and interior accessories for both private individuals and companies. He has received a number of awards (1996 – 1st prize - University Library Brno, 1998 – 1st prize Reconstruction of the Svazarm building at the Zlín Regional Authority, 2000 – 1st prize Zlín Regional Authority, reconstruction and extension, 2001 – 1st prize House of Culture, Kroměříž, 2002 - nomination for the Good Design Prize - Flly sofa, 2003 - Czech Design Prize - Etno collection at the Art Interiér show). He lives and works in Zlín.
